National Archaeological Museum If you want to experience a glimpse of Greek history through ancient artifacts, you should visit the National Archaeological Museum. You can find exhibits that date back to pre-historic times, including sculptures, wall frescoes, and other artifacts. The museum also features a 20,000-volume library of archaeology that contains publications dating back to the 17th century. The museum is conveniently located just a 15-minute walk from Athens Psiri.

Anafiotika is a charming neighborhood located at the foot of the Acropolis rock in Athens. It was built in the mid-19th century and is said to resemble a traditional Greek island village. Anafiotika is part of the Plaka district, and it features restaurants and bars that spill out onto stairs which lead up towards the Acropolis. The neighborhood is full of winding paths, small gardens, and lovely terraces adorned with plants. Anafiotika is just 0.7 km away from the Athens Psiri Hotel, which is a 15-minute walk.

The Acropolis is a well-known tourist attraction, located just 0.9 km away from Athens Psiri Hotel, and can be reached within a 15-minute walk. It is an architectural masterpiece, rich in history and mystique. The site features various structures, including the Parthenon, the Odeon of Pericles, the Temple of Athena Nike, and the Erechtheum. The Acropolis Museum also houses many priceless artifacts from centuries past. You can easily access the Acropolis by taking Metro line 2 from Panepistimio station to the Acropolis station.

Lycabettus Hill, the second highest point in Athens after Tourkovounia, rises 227 meters above the city. At the top, you can find the chapel of St. George and a funicular. The hill is also home to the Lycabettus Theater, an open modern amphitheater where musical concerts and theatrical performances take place every year. Many famous artists have performed at the Lycabettus theater, including Ray Charles, Joan Baez, BB King, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, James Brown, and Bob Dylan.

The Hotel Athens Psiri is conveniently located just 1 km away from Syntagma Square, which can be reached within a 15-minute walk. The hotel is surrounded by many of Athens’ top attractions, including the Wind Baths, the Ancient Agora of Athens, the Theater of Dionysus, the Monument to the Unknown Soldier, and the Parliament of the Hellenes. Additionally, there are many historical areas nearby, such as Heroes’ Square, Thisio, Monastiraki, Zappeio, the National Garden, and of course, Syntagma Square.

The Full Package Ticket for Acropolis costs €30 and is valid for five days from the first entrance.

Coast side Faliro, Glyfada, Voula and Vouliagmeni

Aside from sightseeing in the center, Athens also offers a beautiful coast that is easily accessible by bus, tram, or taxi. The tram will take you from Syntagma to the coastal suburbs of Voula, Faliro, and Pireaus. The trip to the final stop takes approximately 50 minutes. Voula has some nice beaches that are perfect for a quick swim and are not far from Athens. If you prefer to go further, you can catch a bus or taxi from Voula’s tram terminal to Vouliagmeni beach.
